30 Jun Iran’s Global Cultural Arms and their Impact on the Interests of the UAE
My book entitled “Iran’s Global Cultural Arms and their Impact on the Interests of the United Arab Emirates” came in line with the role Iran plays today, the efforts it exerts to win over the international community and gain official recognition as a regional power. The Republic of Iran today seems different from that of the year 2000; the reason being that the Iranian political leadership has managed to establish itself among the most important regional powers in today’s world. After being thwarted by Madrid Conference in 1991, Tehran undertook a rearrangement process through promoting its security and intelligence service, which has always been and continues to be its major tool for consolidating its strategy in the region. Furthermore, it contributed to the media and cultural promotion of Iran via the cultural and academic organizations of the Iranian leadership. In this book, I have highlighted current most significant Iranian tools which helped to improving Iran’s image in the Western societies and demonstrated the ability of the Iranian political leadership to influence the Western decision maker, besides the impact of these tools on the interests of the UAE in particular and the GCC countries in general. I concluded by summarizing potential outcomes of those tools and the most important recommendations decision makers can adopt.
I have presented the topics of this book in the form of published academic papers for research centers in the UAE between 2015 and 2017. I also discussed these topics in academic forums I was invited to in Senegal, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria). Moreover, they constituted the basis of my thesis to obtain the PhD degree in Political Science entitled “The impact of Iranian-Israeli relations on Arab interests between 1979 and 2017”.
